Phoenix Suns, 2020-21 Western Conference Champs unveiled their new $45 million state-of-the-art practice facility at 44th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix, Arizona funded by owner Robert Sarver.
The Verizon 5G Performance Center is a huge upgrade from the previous Suns & Mercury practice facility that was in the basement of Talking Stick Resort Arena for the past 27 years. Through a partnership with Verizon Wireless, the 53,000-square-foot campus features innovative technology throughout.
In what is called the 5G Lab, 3-D force plates and more than 150 cameras and sensors will show motion analysis and player and ball tracking, providing coaches and trainers with more data on each player’s biomechanics and basketball development. Source: Arizona Sports 98.7FM
Western Millwork had the privilege of doing the millwork in this facility. Most of the metal, stone, and woodwork you see in these pics were built by us. When I asked Stan Yazzie (Project Manager) how he felt about working on the practice facility project, he said, "My daughter and I both play basketball. Not only am I a fan of the sport, but I’m also a huge fan of the Phoenix Suns and what an incredible season they had. Being a part of this project made me really proud. The Suns is a huge part of our community, and I felt like I was able to contribute to the community. I'm proud of the work that we did as a company, and it's great to say that I was a part of something special."
